PPS "Surgical Infections-Diagnosis-Treatment-Prevention"
The MSc entitled "Surgical Infections-Diagnosis-Treatment-Prevention" has as subject the education of postgraduate students in the current developments regarding surgical infections, their diagnosis, treatment and prevention. The purpose of the proposed PPS is to train all those health professionals who are involved in monitoring infections of the surgical patient. Also, it will be emphasized the role of the nursing and paramedical staff in the monitoring of surgical infections and also will give guide to scientific research and writing.

At the Program, graduates of the Departments of Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Pharmacy, Biology, Nursing, of the country and of recognized institutions abroad are accepted. Students admission is based on a rating of their documented qualifications and interview.
Qualification requirements and regulations, profile of the programme, key learning outcomes and occupational profiles
The curriculum of the Program entitled " Surgical Infections-Diagnosis-Therapy-Prevention" offers a single curriculum. For obtaining the Master's Degree of the Department of Medicine of the School of Health Sciences of the Aristotele’s University of Thessaloniki. Postgraduate students are required to attend and be successfully examined in the 14 compulsory courses, which correspond to 60 ECTS credits, and to prepare the postgraduate diploma thesis, which corresponds to 30 ECTS, which they present publicly.

The qualification is a terminal award and allows access to doctoral studies.

Graduation requirements
The duration of study that leads to the awarding of the Postgraduate Studies Diploma (PSD) of the proposed Program is defined as a minimum of three (3) academic semesters, which also includes the time for preparation and assessment of the postgraduate thesis. In the first semester six (6) compulsory courses are taught, in the second semester also eight (8) compulsory courses, and in the third semester the diploma thesis is prepared.
