Abstract | An 81-year-old woman with recurrent episodes of dizzy spells was found to have a mass in the right atrium on transthoracic echocardiography. The patient underwent successful surgery to excise the mass, which was arising from the anterior leaflet of the tricuspid valve. Histology showed a papillary fibroelastoma. Although management is still controversial when such tumours are found incidentally in asymptomatic patients, surgery may be considered, especially if the tumour is large, due to the high risk of embolism. |
