Dear friends and colleagues,
It is our great pleasure to invite you to the 1st Course "Practical Flaps in Orthroplastic Surgery on fresh frozen cadaveric specimens” which will take place on June 9th -10th, 2023 at the Laboratory of Anatomy & Surgical Anatomy of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (theoretical & practical part) in Thessaloniki, Greece.
The Course is organized by the 1st Orthopaedic Department of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, "G. Upper and lower limb injuries are usually complicated situations where both soft tissue and bone are involved. These kinds of injuries need a multidisciplinary approach that combines principles of both orthopaedic and plastic surgery. Proper technique and proper indications are absolutely necessary elements for a successful outcome of the surgery. In an attempt to exchange knowledge and find ways and effective solutions to difficult problems, such as emergency trauma, fractures with extended soft tissue loss, free flaps, perforator flaps, etc we are organizing the 1st Course of "Practical Flaps in Orthroplastic Surgery on fresh frozen cadaveric specimens”.
The course is addressed to both Orthopaedic and Plastic Surgeons who are dealing with upper and lower limb injuries, salvation and reconstruction. Our intention is to provide this knowledge at international level. The practice in cadaveric workshop will provide the participants with confidence, so that they can be sufficient for these demanding surgeries, so that we have the optimal result for the restoration of motion and functionality of an injured limb.
This course features theoretical demonstrations followed by practical workshops on cadaveric specimens. The small number of participants together with the large faculty international and local experts will allow for a constructive and in depth discussion. The experts will guide the participants through the different procedures and will be at disposal for analysis of any cases or problems.
