The School of Medicine of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, offers the English Postgraduate Program of Studies in “Medical Engineering and Informatics” since October 2022. The Program lasts one full academic year, including 2 semesters and the summer Project Thesis period (75 ECTS). The official language is English. Specific admission requirements
The Postgraduate Program is open to holders of first-cycle degrees of Higher Educational Institutions - HEI (HEI: Universities and Technological Educational Institutes) of the domestic Schools of Sciences, Polytechnic Schools, Schools of Health Sciences, Departments of Medicine and generally University Departments with degrees with a relevant subject to the field of specialization of the Postgraduate Program, as well as holders of first cycle degrees of equivalent foreign institutions with degrees related to the field of specialization of the Postgraduate Program.
Qualification requirements and regulations, profile of the programme, key learning outcomes and occupational profiles
Awarding the Diploma of Postgraduate Studies of the Postgraduate Study Program entitled "Medical Engineering and Informatics" (M.E.I.) of the School of Medicine, according to the Government Gazette 5189/tB/06. 10.2022, requires the attendance and successful examination in postgraduate courses of the Postgraduate Program as well as the completion of the Thesis. The total work load corresponds to 75 ECTS. In particular, the program includes: a) during the first (A' ) semester of study, the completion of compulsory courses corresponding to a total of thirty (30) ECTS, (b) during the second (B' ) semester of study, the completion of compulsory courses and the design of the Thesis, corresponding to a total of thirty (30) ECTS and, c) the completion of the Thesis at the end of the summer period, which corresponds to fifteen (15) ECTS.
English is the official language of the Postgraduate Study Program.
Professional status (if applicable)
Graduates of the Postgraduate Study Program "Medical Engineering and Informatics" will be able to work in positions of the public and private sectors, which require specialized knowledge in the subject of Medical Engineering and Informatics.

Access to a doctoral dissertation.
Examination regulations, assessment and grading
A scale of 1 to 10 is used grade the course performance of students in the Hellenic Higher Education. The final grade of the Postgraduate Diploma follows the following grading scale and description:
Excellent: 8.50 - 10
Very Good : 6.50 - 8.49
Good : 6.00 - 6.49
Fail : 0,00 - 5,99
The minimum passing grade is six (6,00).
Graduation requirements
2 SEMESTERS (plus one summer period), 75 ECTS
An academic year of intensive postgraduate studies that is equivalent to 75 ECTS units (European Credit Transfer System) and a full semester to 30 ECTS
(1ECTS= 25-30 hours, Compliance of the Greek Law, Ministerial Decision no Φ5/89656/β3, art. 1-3, Hellenic Government Gazette no 1466/2007/B with the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System). Each course is awarded ECTS units (>=2), which reflects the amount of work that is required by the student for completing the course, laboratory, tutorial sessions, etc.
